Join us for the District II Spring Convention, a wonderful morning of gardening, learning, fellowship, and fun with fellow garden club members from across the district.
Our featured speaker will be Sam Kieschnick, Urban Wildlife Biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Sam will take us on an engaging look at the fascinating wildlife that shares our urban environment—from insects and pollinators to birds, turtles, coyotes, and other wildlife that have learned to adapt to life in North Texas. He'll explore how development, heat, habitat loss, and the changing urban landscape affect wildlife, while highlighting the remarkable resilience of species that have learned to thrive alongside us. Sam will also share practical ways we can make our own yards and gardens more welcoming to wildlife, including the importance of native plants, water sources, and small pockets of habitat. His enthusiasm for the natural world and his belief that there is "habitat in the margins" throughout DFW will leave us seeing our own gardens—and the creatures in them—with a whole new appreciation.
In addition to the program, enjoy a silent auction and raffle prizes, with plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow gardeners and enjoy a morning of friendship and fun.
We hope you'll join us for this special spring gathering!
